Here’s an experiment in using the Meta-Slider plug-in.
All of these can include picture captions, URL links, and titles and alt-text to make them “search engine optimized.”

Sand Sculpture Contest

First we use a “Flex Slider,” fading between the slides.
This slider is only able to do a “Fade” or “Slide” transition.

Here is a “Responsive Slider.”
This slider is only able to do a “Fade” transition.

Here is an example of the “Nivo Slider.”
This slider has 13 possible transition effects, or a “Random” combination.

This is called the “Coin Slider.”
This one is more affected by the size of the graphics. All four pictures are the same width, but their height varies. This slider “tiles” another copy of the graphic to fill in the height.
This slider has 3 possible transition effects, or a “Random” combination.
